Kolkata witnessed a magical night as singer Nikhita Gandhi took the stage at THK Jain College’s annual fest, Ripples 2024. The celebrated artist delivered a jaw-dropping performance, singing an astounding 40 songs across multiple languages, captivating the hearts of college students and music enthusiasts alike. Dressed in a vibrant orange outfit, Nikhita’s presence was complemented by her five band members, who rocked matching yellow attire. From soulful melodies to foot-tapping party anthems, the night had it all!

The concert kicked off with the enchanting Kuch To Hai Tujhse Raabta, setting the tone for the evening. The audience was then treated to mesmerizing renditions of Tu Jhoom, Ishq Sufiyana, and Iktara, prompting a sea of flashlights in the crowd. Just as the soft, emotional vibe had the attendees reminiscing their love stories, Nikhita shifted gears with romantic hits like Mast Magan and Tere Bin Nai Lagta, leaving everyone swaying in sync.

Nikhita’s ability to connect emotionally was evident when she performed tear-jerkers like Kabira, Channa Mereya, and Chup Mahi Chup Hai Ranjha, stirring nostalgia and bittersweet emotions. Breaking the tender spell, she moved to the edge of the stage, sitting alongside her guitarist to deliver an intimate version of Aise Kyun. The transition to Kafirana, performed atop a box, thrilled those at the back, ensuring everyone felt part of the magic. The audience erupted when she followed this with crowd favorites Ratan Lambiyan and Sanwarne Lage, getting everyone grooving.

Just when the attendees thought they had seen it all, Nikhita delivered a surprise jugalbandi of Naja Naja and Urvashi. The high-energy medley had the crowd dancing without a care. She then brought a participatory vibe by singing Dil Kya Kare, with the audience enthusiastically singing along. A delightful twist saw the drummer showcasing his beatboxing skills while Nikhita performed Sajna Aa Bhi Ja, eventually segueing into her hit O’ Sajna with a unique rap twist from her keyboardist. The energy peaked as she fused this mix with Dil Kya Kare, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The highlight of the night came with Khaamakhaa from Bandish Bandits Season 2, an emotional masterpiece that showcased Nikhita’s vocal prowess. After 20 songs, she took a brief moment to interact with the audience, energizing them further before diving into the second round. Starting with Naach Meri Rani, her dance moves, reminiscent of Nora Fatehi, mesmerized everyone. She followed up with party anthems like Khwaab Dekhe Jhoothe Moothe, Kyaa Baat Hai, Kangana Teri Ni, and Bijlee Bijlee, turning the venue into a full-fledged party zone.

Props added a theatrical flair to her performance. Sporting black goggles with a bedazzled frame, she launched into Kaala Chashma. The setlist then escalated with a medley of hits such as Dil Ullu Ka Patha Hai, Bang Bang, Disco Deewane, Ghungroo Tut Gaye, and Mast Malang. Nikhita’s versatility shone brightly as she transitioned to regional hits, performing the Odia classic Rangabati and the Bengali favorite Sundari Komola Nache, which received thunderous applause.

As the concert drew to a close, chants of “once more, once more” echoed. Nikhita obliged, kicking off her climax act with Tere Pyaar Mein, Doobey, and Tera Ni Mai Lover. She then dazzled the crowd with a belly-dancing segment, donning a hip scarf for Besharam Rang, Burj Khalifa, and Jalebi Baby. The grand finale came with Jugnu, during which she pulled a playful prank by briefly breaking into Kisi Disco Me Jayen. Descending into the audience, she wrapped up the electrifying night with the Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu, leaving the crowd cheering for more.
